Prepress
What is Prepress?
Prepress is a term in the printing industry that refers to all the processes that happen before printing, including:
- Preflighting
- Proofing
- Imposition
- Plating
Prepress work begins after a commercial printer like Sina Printing receives an order along with all the relevant graphics and images from the customer or their graphic designer.
What is the prepress procedure at Sina Printing?
Sina Printing has divided the procedure into two stages to make sure every order is fulfilled and delivered perfectly.
- Stage 1
The files received by the client are preflighted for successful, high quality printing. This is to make sure that there are no potential errors, format concerns, or other issues that could disrupt the printing process. - Stage 2
The second prepress stage is creating a proof. A proof is a close representation of the final print product. A PDF file is sent to the client as a proof for approval. The client can then:i. Approve the proof
ii. Upload a new file*
iii. Request a hard copy proof**Subsequent charges will apply.
- Stage 3
This stage only comes into account for offset services. The proof or sample is sent out on printing plates as the final prepress printing process.
Please note that for large format items, proofs are not sent. The job goes straight into production.
